Jeev soars to tied 15th at PGA Championship

Gifu, Japan, May 13 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh fired four birdies on the trot in his front nine as the winner of last month's Volvo China Open returned the day's best four under 68 card to soar to a tied 15th postion after the penultimate round of the 110 million yen PGA Championship here today.

With an aggregate of five under 211, Jeev is now six strokes off the pace with Toru Taniguchi leading the chart with 11 under 205 at the par 72 Tanigumi Country Club.

Unlike yesterday, the Asian Tour UBS Order of Merit leader had a perfect start today and seemed to have struck a purple patch as he gained four shots on the four holes between second and fifth to rekindle his chances of a top 10 finish.

After playing it safe on the next nine holes, Jeev erred and bogeyed on the 15th but was quick to make amends as he birdied on the next.

Jeev had a sedate start in the tourney and played rounds of 71 and 72 to make the cut.
