Jayendra concerned over conversion attempts
Guntur, May 13: Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi has expressed concern at the 'growing conversion of Hindus' and stressed the need to strengthen Hindu dharma at the grassroot level to counter this phenomenon.
Speaking at a public meeting in the Lord Venkateswara Temple premises here last night, he suggested the formation of separate Hindu associations for youth and women at village level and inculcation of the basic principles of Hindu dharma among them.
The Shankaracharya, prime accused in the Sankararaman murder case, expressed anguish at the attempts to dilute the sanctity of Tirumala-Tirupati, the abode of Lord Venkateswara.
