HP minister asks FCI to ensure timely delivery of foodgrains
Shimla, May 13 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Horticulture and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Singhi Ram today urged the Food Corporation of India (FCI) authorities to ensure timely delivery of allotted quantity of foodgrains to the state.
Presiding over the meeting with the FCI authorities at Chandigarh today for streamlining the availability of foodgrains under PDS in the state, he said 1,500 metric tonne of food grains should be supplied to the state daily to clear its backlog.
Mr Ram directed the state civil supplies corporation authorities to coordinate with the FCI and ensure the backlog of 1500 metric tonne of foodgrains were transported to the state as early as possible.
The Central Ware House Corporation would also be asked to augment the storage capacity in the state, he said.
Assuring Mr Ram of early supply of foodgrains to the state, he said 150 trucks carrying 1500 mt of food grains would be dispatched to the state within the next two days.
