Heavy showers bring relief
Kolkata, May 13 (UNI) Temperatures plummeted several notches as Kolkata and several parts of West Bengal received heavy showers, accompanied by lightning and thunder storms today.
The heavy rainfall brought relief from the scorching heat the state has been experiencing for the last few days. Temperatures have been hovering just below the 40 degrees Celsius mark in the state.
Met office said Kolkata received 19.3 mm rainfall today.
The miniumum temperature dipped by more than five degrees celsius.
Met office sources said the minimum temperature was 23.6 degree celsius today while it was 28.9 degree celsius yesterday.
