Government simplifies expenditure rules
Patna, May 13 (UNI) Bihar government has decided to waive off the limitations for planned and non-planned expenditure during a particular period of a financial year for smooth implementation of developmental works.
In a release, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said here today that earlier there were restrictions on the expenditure introduced by the then government in 1998.
According to restrictions, no department had the power to spend more than one-fourth of the entire annual allotment during any quarter of the financial year, he added.
With fresh orders issued early this month, the restrictions would cease to be effective and there would be impetus in the execution of the different developmental work and welfare activities of the state government, he noted.
Mr Modi said earlier a major chunk of the funds of various departments were surrendered because of the bottleneck of the earlier restrictive rules.
He said the government had also simplified the withdrawals of funds of planned expenditure and with the new decision permission of finance department would not be required any more for withdrawal of developmental funds kept in civil deposit.
