CPI(Maoist) naxalite arrested in Jharkhand

Ranchi, May 13 (UNI) The police have arrested a hardcore CPI (Maoist) naxalite and recvered Rs 90,000 in cash from his possession from Helsalong area under Khelari police station in Jharkhand's Ranchi district.

Senior superintendent of police R K Mallick told newspersons today that the naxalite, identified as Prakash Orang alias Deepak, was arrested last night and had joined the organisation in 1999. Prior to that he stayed in Asom for about two to three years and had worked in a brick kiln there.

He was also the member of the zonal committee of the outfit and had been involved in all operations carried out in the area by them.

Orang was involved in blowing up of police post in the district recently, the officer added.
