Written by: Staff

Bhopal, May 13 (UNI) Within 24 hours after taking oath as MLA, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a surprise inspection of two police stations after midnight last night and said establishing rule of law was on his priority.

He inspected Talaiyya police station in the state capital and Khajuri Sadak police station in Sehore district, about 30 Km from here. There, he inspected crime register, inspection register, lock-up and store room.

Along with availability of staff, weapons and training facility, he also inquired about large number of vehicles parked around police stations, pending cases, official sources said.

Mr Chouhan said it was expected that the police should adopt a people-friendly approach while sternly dealing with offenders.

Expressing concern over reduction of Rs 200 crore in Central assistance for police modernisation, he said efforts would be made to seek more assistance from the Centre.
