BSM to stay away from BSP
Phagwara, May 13 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Morcha (BSM) president and former MP Satnam Singh Kainth today said that his party will emerge as a strong dalit political force in Punjab due to the ''dictatorial style of functioning'' of BSP chief Ms Maywati.
Addressing a news conference here he said the BSM will not forge any political alliance or compromise with BSP at any cost for the next assembly elections in Punjab. Mr, Kainth who left the BSP due to difference with Ms Mayawati to float the BSM a few years back, ruled out any dissolution of his party.
Regarding the assembly polls, he said no single party will get a majority in Punjab.
Asked about the possibility of alliances, he said it would be decided after announcement of the elections and added. poll strategy of his party would be finalised after the state level rally of the Morcha scheduled to be held in the month of September.
Mr Kainth said 'Jan Jagran Rallies' would be organised in several assembly segments from May 20 to August 15.
He claimed that neither the ruling party Congress nor Shiromani Akali Dal did anything worthwhile for the interests of the state but instead wasted their respective tenures, pointing accusing fingers against each other.
