Atwal, Daniel Chopra miss cut at Byron Nelson
Texas, May 13 (UNI) Arjun Atwal's hat-trick of birdies over the final three holes could not save him as both he and Indian-born Swede Daniel Chopra failed to make the cut in the Byron Nelson Championship here.
Atwal, after his opening round of three-over 73, carded an improved one-under 69 at the Cottonwood Valley Course, one of the two venues for the first two rounds, but his two-day total of 142 saw him missing the cut by a stroke.
Atwal dropped two shots in his outward journey, apart from a birdie, and also bogeyed the 14th. Though he signing off with three back-to-back birdies, the door was slammed on Atwal.
Daniel Chopra, meanwhile, could not recover from a horrendous first round of six-over 76 and a second round of two-under 68 did not make any difference as the former Asian Tour regular fell by the wayside.
His rollercoaster second round included six birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey.
Meanwhile, Australia's Adam Scott fired a flawless five-under 65 to take his two-day aggregate to 10-under 130. American Brett Wetterich joins Scott at top after returning six-under 64 on the TPC at Las Colinas.
