Asom CM to be sworn in tomorrow

Guwahati, May 13 (UNI) Mr Tarun Gogoi will take over as the Chief Minister of Asom tomorrow at the head of a Congress-led coalition ministry, official sources said today.

Mr Gogoi, who was earlier to be sworn in as the Chief Minister on May 17, will now be sworn in at 1330 hours tomorrow at the Raj Bhawan by Governor Ajai Singh, sources said.

The members of his ministry would be finalised after his visit to New Delhi to hold talks with the high command. The ministry would be sworn in on May 17.

The Chief Minister was earlier slated to take oath with his ministerial colleagues together after returning from New Delhi.

Mr Gogoi had earlier in the day laid stake to form the government with the support of 53 Congress MLAs and 11 BPPF(H) legislators, making the magic figure of 64 in the house of 126.

Few Independent MLAs have also extended support to the Congress-led coalition.
