APCC lauds centre's clearance of projects

Hyderabad, May 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today expressed happiness over centre's environmental and forest clearances to Kalwakurthi, Ellampalli and Handri-Niva pending irrigation projects.

According to a press release here, PCC Secretary R Padmaraju said the projects would provide irriagation water to 7.9 lakh acres in Mahaboobnagar, Karimnagar and Medak districts and the government has allocated Rs 7,589 crore for these pending projects.

The Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's initiative of turning the state into 'Harithandhra Pradesh' would be realisied soon, he added.
