Tripura to experience heavy rains in the next few days
Agartala, May 12 (UNI) Tripura is expected to receive heavy rains in the next 72-hour due to active westernly winds from Bay of Bengal.
Weather forecast from Agro-meteorological Advisory Service (AAS) of the ICAR at Lembucherra said that sky would remain cloudy and medium to heavy rain might occur in most of the places of the region till May 15.
It said the rain in few places might be accompanied by strong winds and thunder. '' The rain is expected to be comparatively heavy on May 14,'' it said. Tripura has been experiencing intermittent rainfall since yesterday.
It said the overall temperature might vary from 32 to 33 degrees celsius (maxium) and 22 to 24 degrees celsius (minimum).
The weather report said about 190mm rain was recorded in the last 24 hours.
The AAS had suggested immediate sowing of amman rice and advised the farmers to store harvested boro rice under safe because of the rainfall.
