Shiv Kapur, Randhawa tied 46th after first round in British Masters
Birmingham, May 12 (UNI) The Indian duo of Shiv Kapur and Jyoti Randhawa carded identical rounds of 70 for a sedate start to their British Masters campaign at the De Vere Belfry Golf Course here.
Asian Tour Rookie of the Year, Shiv began with a bang, firing three successive birdies and picking up another shot in the penultimate hole. Bogeys in the sixth and 16th did mar his show but Shiv was relieved to escape his opening round woes.
His senior colleague and highest ranked Indian Jyoti Randhawa also had a decent start, gaining two shots in his outward journey that included three birdies and a bogey even though with a bogey and a birdie, the back nine was a routine affair.
Meanwhile, Northern Irishman Darren Clarke mixed six birdies, an eagle and two bogeys for his spectacular 66 to share the opening round lead with Peter Hanson.
