Sania, Gavaskar open new innings with Duetsche bank

Written by: Staff

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) Decked up in a skirt and white top and dangling a black leather bag, Sania Mirza proved why she is the cynosure of all eyes. But with the ever graceful and articulate Sunil Gavaskar on dais, it was a Sunny evening as both the celebrites announced their association with a German bank.

Gavaskar, known for his impeccable timing in his pomps, and Sania arrived late at a spanky city hotel last night for the occasion and in the end, it was the former cricket captain who outshone the Hyderabadi sensation.

The cream-coloured suit stood testimonial to Gavaskar's sartorial taste and the cricketer-turned-commentator was at his articulate best in his brief speech.

''I'm happy to be here among you. As an opening batsman, I always recognise the value of a good partner and I'm happy to be associated with a global bank which stands for passion and will serve the financial need of a broad cross-section of the society,'' he said.

Sania, on her part, was happy to share the dais with Gavaskar and excited at the prospect of working with the man who was the first to summit the 10,000 Test run peak.

''It's a great pleasure and honour to share the stage with you Mr Gavaskar. I'm happy that I'll work together with you.'' On her association with the bank, Sania said, ''It's a pleasure for me to work with the bank as I can relate with their work ethic and the philosophy.'' Managing Director of the bank Ajay Bimbhet handed over travelling logo to both.

However, much to the disappointment of the mediapersons, both Gavaskar and Sania were shoved away by security guards.
