Renowned scientist CNR Rao conferred Visvabharati D Lit

Bangalore, May 12 (UNI) Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, has conferred Degree of Desikottama (D Lit Honoris Causa) to renowned scientist C N R Rao while the Central Government has chosen him as National Research Professor.

Rao, who is also Linus Pauling Research Professor and holds the post of Honorary President of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, has been honoured in recognition of his contribution to the development and innovation in the field of Physical Chemistry and application of science for public welfare, a release from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research here said today.
