Promotions in J

Srinagar, May 12 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has approved promotions of several officers in the police department.

In the marathon five-hour-long meeting here last night, the state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, approved promotion of 1987 batch in the rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP) in the super-time scale of Rs 18400-22400.

The officials are V K Singh, S M Sahai, Dilbag Singh, Raja Aijaz Ali, Sheikh Owais Ahmad and Ashok Kumar Gupta.

The Cabinet also approved promotion of several officers of 1992 batch to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police in the super-time scale of Rs 16400-20000 with effect from January one, 2006.

The officials are H K Lohia, Pankaj Saxena, Mir Niyaz Mehmood, Bashir Ahmad Dar and Abdul Subhan Lone.
