Police officer killed in road accident

Puri, May 12 (UNI) A police officer died in a road accident at Dahikhia bridge on the Puri Satpada route today.

Police said 28-year old Dharmendra Das, Second officer of the Brahmagiri police station, was killed on the spot, while the pillion rider of his bike sustained severe injuries when a speeding passenger bus hit them near Dahikhia bridge.

The local people brought the body of the police officer and the injured to the Puri hospital. The injured was later shifted to SCB Medical college and hospital at Cuttack in a critical condition.

Puri Superintendent of Police Sanjib Panda visited the hospital.
