PFC, NMDC on government's disinvestment list

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) The government has decided to disinvest some of its holding in Power Finance Corporation and in National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), the Lok Sabha was today informed.

As per the decision, the Government has decided to disinvest five per cent of its equity holding from the PFC where the Government's holding is hundred per cent, Minister of State for Finance S S Palanimanickam said in a written reply.

Apart from this, the Government has also decided to sell off 15 per cent of its equity shareholding from NMDC where its present holding is 98.34 per cent. It will be carried out through ''offer for sale'' in the domestic market. The disinvestment by Government in PFC would be through piggy-back on the public issue being done by PFC, the minister added.
