Written by: Staff

Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) activist Medha Patkar and some 300 former dwellers sat on a dawn to dusk protest against police high-handedness and demolition of slum colonies in Mandala, near Mankurd railway station, today.

Large contigents of riot police and other personnel kept a tight vigil over the demolished slum areas, while the protests were largely peaceful and symbolic in nature.

Activist Parveen Jani told UNI that bulldozers and other equipment were used today to clean up the remaining things at the disputed land.
