MCX index closes at 2,517.05 up 14.98 pts

Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 4,512.85 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2,517.05 up by 14.98 points (0.60 per cent).

The total trades registered were 67,146.

The MCX metal index closed at 3,037.96 up by 12.34 points (0.41 per cent), while its agri index was a gainer and closed at 1,754.19 up 35.86 points (2.04 per cent). MCX energy index was at 2,758.88 down by 3.26 points (-0.12 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 3,103.02 crore, including various MCX gold Rs 2,023.74 crore and MCX silver Rs 989.27 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 30,601. The open interest for gold was 10,667 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 2,99,485 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 498.19 crore with 9,770 trades, while MCX aluminium recorded a turnover of Rs 45.17 crore with 1,327 trades MCX zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 149.51 crore with 1,436 trades, respectively.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 84.71 crore with open interest of 6,91,300 BBL.

Turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX were as follows -- urad registered a turnover of Rs 43.21 crore with 220 trades, chana registered a turnover of Rs 69.27 crore with 950 trades, tur recorded a turnover of Rs 12.52 crore with 233 trades, and masur registered a turnover of Rs 11.12 crore with 486 trades.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 76.39 crore with 2,368 trades, while mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 256.75 crore with 11,634 trades.

MCX Gold June 06 closed at Rs 10,750 up by Rs 116 (1.08 per cent), while Aug closed at Rs 10,984 up by Rs 144 (1.31 per cent), and October closed at Rs 11,227 up by Rs 185 (1.65 per cent).

MCX Silver July 06 closed at Rs 22,777 up by Rs 103 (0.45 per cent), Sept closed at Rs 23,255 up by Rs 29 (0.12 per cent).
