Major shake up in J

Srinagar, May 12 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has effected a major reshuffle in the police department.

In the marathon five-hour-long meeting here last night, the state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, approved several transfers and postings in the police department consequent upon the promotion of Indian Police Service officers of 1987 batch to the rank and pay scale of Inspector General of Police (IGP).

S K Mishra on his repatriation from central deputation has been posted as the IGP Vigilance. S S Bijral, IGP CID, has been transferred and posted as IGP, Human Rights.

V K Singh, DIG Rajouri-Poonch, has been transferred and posted as Director Special Security Group. S M Sahai, DIG Crime and Railways, has been posted as IGP Crime and Railways.

Dilbagh Singh, Director Special Security Group, has been transferred and posted as IGP, CID. Raja Ajaz Ali, DIG Security, has been posted as Commissioner Civil Military Liaison.

Sheikh Owais Ahmad, DIG Anantnag-Pulwama, has been transferred and posted as IGP Armed. A K Gupta, Director Police Telecommunication, has been posted as IGP Security. G H Chisti, DIG Homguards and Civil Defence Kashmir, has been posted as DIG Armed Police, Kashmir.

M A Anjum, DIG Armed Jammu, has been posted as DIG Rajouri Poonch. Hemant Kumar Lohia, DIG CID Kashmir, has been posted as DIG Anantnag-Pulwama. Gulzar Singh, in-charge DIG Homeguards and Civil Defence Jammu, has been posted as in-charge DIG Armed Police Jammu.

Bhupinder Singh SP Telecom Jammu has been posted as Incharge Director Police Telecommunication. Rouf-ul-Hassan, SSP Traffic Kashmir, has been transferred and posted as SSP State Vigilance Organisation. Farooq Khan awaiting orders of posting has been posted as SSP Rajouri.

P R Manhas, SSP Doda, has been transferred and posted as SSP Udhampur. Rajesh Kumar, SSP Udhampur, has been transferred and posted as AD SKPA, Udhampur. J P Singh, SSP Rajouri, has been transferred and posted as SSP Kathua.

Viplav Kumar, SSP Pulwama, has been transferred and posted as SSP Baramulla. Garib Dass, SP Ramban, has been transferred and posted as SP Kargil. Vijay Kumar, AIG (T&I) PHQ, has been transferred and posted as SSP Kupwara.

Johny William, SSP Kathua, has been transferred and posted as Commdt. JKAP 9th Bn. R P Rasotra, SO to DIG Jammu-Kathua, has been transferred and posted as SP Border Jammu. Parminder Singh, SP Border Jammu, has been transferred and posted as SO to DIG Jammu-Kathua.

Ahfadul Mujtaba, SP Budgam, has been transferred and posted as AIG (T&I) PHQ. Ashkoor Wani, SP Baramulla, has been attached with IGP Kashmir till further orders. Nitish Kumar, SP Handwara, has been transferred and posted as SP Pulwama.

Basant Kumar Rath, SP Jammu, has been transferred and posted as SP Ramban. G M Dar, SSP Awantipur, has been transferred and posted as SSP AHJ, Srinagar.

Manohar Singh, SSP North, Jammu has been transferred and posted as SSP Doda. Abdul Hamid Bhat, SP AHJ, Srinagar has been transferred and posted as SP Traffic, Kashmir. Sunil Dutt, SP Kupwara, has been attached with IGP Jammu till further orders.

Sardar Khan, SP, awaiting orders of posting has been posted as SP Awantipora in his own pay and grade. Haseeb Mughal, SP, awaiting orders of posting has been posted as SP Handwara in his own pay and grade.
