Mahajan's ashes immersed in Mahodadhi on Puri beach
Puri, May 12 (UNI) The urn containing ashes of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan was immersed in the Mahodadhi (a portion of Puri sea considered sacred in the hindu mythology) here today.
The urn was brought here from Bhubaneswar by former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Debendra Pradhan, Orissa Revenue Minister Manmohan Samal and State Cooperation Minister Surama Padhi.
Hundreds of BJP activists, led by party unit Chief Krushna Chandra Jagdev, participated in the immersion ceremony and prayer.
The urn was brought in a procession and taken to Gandhi Ghat where an all-religion prayer meeting was held before the ashes were immersed in the sea amid slogan ''Mahajan Amar Rahe''.
Several prominent personalities of the city paid their tributes to the departed soul.
