Local body polls: Deve Gowda convenes party leaders meet
Bangalore, May 12 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) National President H D Deve Gowda has convened a meeting of party leaders tomorrow to work out strategies for the coming elections to local bodies in the state.
In a statement here today, Party Spokesman Y S V Datta said the meeting would be attended by offfice bearers of the state unit and other leaders including State President M P Prakash, and Secretary General Mahima Patel.
Strategies would be worked out at the meeting to fight the elections to civic bodies, including city municipal corporations of Gulbarga, Bellary, Hubli-Dharwar, Mysore and Mangalore, he informed.
Mr Gowda had also convened a meeting of party legislators and MPs on May 15 to discuss the current political scenario in the state.
Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had also been invited for the meeting, he added.
