JSPC holds public hearing for Tata Blue scope steel plant

Jamshedpur, May 12 (UNI) The Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPC) today organised a Public Hearing in response to the application for No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the proposed Tata BlueScope Steel Plant here.

Tata BlueScope Steel Limited, a fifty-fifty joint venture company between Tata steel and BlueScope, an international flat steel solution company of Australia, would set up a state-of-the-art plant at Bara here.

The joint venture company, which would also have presence in Pune, Chennai and New Delhi would produce high-end coated steel products with annual metallic coating capaciy of 250,000 tonnes and paint coating capacity of 150,000 tonnes.

The Tata BlueScope Steel Plant, being set up with an investment of Rs 785 crores, is expected to be completed by twenty months time, company sources said and added the PH was attended by villagers and the pannel members and all questions were answered suitably.
