JC of Sher Singh Rana extended till May 17

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) A city court today extended the judicial custody of Sher Singh Rana, prime accused in the murder case of bandit-turned-MP Phoolan Devi, to May 17.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamaljeet Arora passed the order on completion of his five-day judicial remand.

Rana has been kept in Rohini jail since being brought here after his arrest in Kolkata by the special cell of Delhi police on April 25.

He had escaped from the Tihar jail two years ago.

Phoolan Devi was shot dead outside her Ashoka Road residence here on July 25, 2001.
