Inter-state gang of auto-lifters busted, 3 held

Varanasi, May 12 (UNI) The police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of auto-lifters, with the arrest of three persons at the Chetgang area here.

Police superintendent (City) Ananat Deo told newspersons here today Nandlal Gupta alias Nandu, Mohd Waris and Javed Khan -- all residents of Varanasi -- were held from Chowkaghat and five motorcycles seized from them.

Interrogation revealed the gang members were active in east Uttar Pradesh districts and neighbouring Bihar.

Further investigations were on.
