Four killed and one injured in HP

Solan, May 12 (UNI) Four people were killed and a woman seriously injured after a private bus in which they were traveling met with an accident at Kashmir Pur bridge on the Sawargaht-Nalagarh road in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh today, police said.

The four, hanging on the foothold of the front and the rear doors of the overcrowded bus, were killed after the driver of the vehicle turned it to the left, crushing them between the bus and the bridge parapet.

Solan SP Gyaneshwer Singh said the accident occurred after the driver of the bus turned to the left, in order to lat another vehicle pass.

He said three people killed on the spot while the conductor of the bus succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was absconding after the accident. A case has been registered, he added .

The deceased were identified as Chander Mohan,, Gurnam, Suneel Kumar, and conductor of the bus, Nirmal Kumar, while the injured woman was identified as Payari Devi. She has been admitted to Civil Hospital at Nalagarh.
