Expedition team to 'climb Everest' to felicitate martyrs
Kathmandu, May 12 (UNI) A five-member team will climb the Everest with photographs of the 'Martyrs', who were killed during the pro-Democracy Movement in Nepal last Month.
A 'Democratic Mount Everest Expedition 2006' is scheduled to mark the success of the peoples' movement by scaling the Everest, a local newspaper said.
The Team, along with the national flag, will put the flags of all the parties of the Seven-Party Alliance (SPA) and photographs of the 21 people, who were killed in the movement.
''The expedition was inspired by the success of the Jana Andolan (People's Movement) and the leaders of the SPA has assured all the possible help'', the Himalayan Times said quoting Ngima Sherpa, a member of expedition team.
Team Leader of the expedition Insu Rai said although they had very limited time for preparation, they would try their best to scale the peak in the summer season. He said in case of bad weather they would start the expedition in August, the newspaper reported.
21 people, including an Indian, were killed during the pro-democracy movement last month in Nepal, which forced King Gyanendra to handover power to political parties.
