Convict hurls slipper at FTC judge in Mysore
Mysore, May 12 (UNI) A convict in a murder case hurled a slipper at Fast Track Court Judge-III B M Sindhagi in the court here today.
The incident took place soon after the judge convicted and sentenced two persons--Somashekhar and Alwin--to life imprisonment in the case relating to the murder of Verghese, a watchman at St Phelomena's college, on February six, 2005.
The court, however, acquitted two other accused, Nayaz and Zaheer Khan, in the case.
After the judge delivered the verdict, the policemen were escorting the two convicts out of the court hall when Somashekhar took a slipper and hurled it at the judge.. However, the slipper missed the target.
The judge filed a case against Somashekar at Lakshmipuram police station.
Meanwhile, members of the Bar Association boycotted court proceedings for sometime and staged a demonstration, condemning the incident.
