CBI Legal Officer arrested on bribery charges

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) The CBI has arrested one of its legal officers, stationed in Delhi, on bribery charges and registered a case against him.

Deputy Legal Adviser D K Srivastava, posted with the Anti-Corruption Branch of the CBI at Delhi, was arrested yesterday while accepting a bribe of Rs four lakh from one of the officials of a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), against whom cases had been registered following an enquiry, according to the CBI.

Searches at Srivastava's residence led to the rceovery of Rs 1.5 lakh cash along with incriminating documents.

Earlier this year, another Deputy Legal Adviser had been arrested from Mumbai.

The arrest is part of the agency's continuing drive against corruption by public servants, within and outside the CBI.
