Allahabad HC seeks vacancy status in education department

Allahabad, May 12 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today asked the director and principal secretary of the Uttar Pradesh education department to issue directions to district inspectors to submit a report on vacancies of dependants of deceased to the posts of clerks and peons in recognised and aided educational institutions.

The order was passed by Mr Justice Shishir Kumar on a writ petition filed by Bhalendu Pandey of Deoria district.

The petitioner was appointed as a class IV employee but his appointment was denied by the district inspectors on the ground that prior permissmion was not sought before the appointment was made and rules of reservation were not followed.

The court is of the view that in accordance with 101 to 107 of chapter three of the UP Education Act, the vacancies of class III and IV in educatioal institutions can not be filled till the adjustment of the pending applications of the dependents for appointment under the rules are made.
