Air India-Salgaocar NFL tie shifted to Mumbai

Panaji, May 12 (UNI) The Air India Mumbai- Salgaocar Sports Club tie of the ONGC Cup National Football league championship originally scheduled at Nehru stadium Fatorda at Margao in Goa tomorrow has been shifted to Mumbai's Cooperage grounds.

Talking to UNI, Goa Football Association (GFA) secretary Savio Messias alleged, ''The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has not informed the GFA, the local organiser about the shift in venue. Only teams had been informed about the change.'' Meanwhile, Salgaocar has already left for Mumbai last evening for the match.

Relegation threatens Salgaocar, presently with 11 points from 14 outings, and they are desperately in need of victory tomorrow to keep their hopes alive. Salgaocar have three matches in hand and tomorrow's tie is crucial for them.

The other team struggling to avoid relegation is Kolkata's Mohammedan Sporting with 14 points from 15 matches, three points ahead of Salgaocar.

Air India at the momement placed seventh in the league table with 17 points from 15 outings with (5 wins, 2 draws, 8 defeat).
