6 people arrested with fake currency notes at Antop Hill
Mumbai, May 12 (UNI) Six people have been arrested by the Antop Hill police with fake currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 100 denominations.
With a tip off that a man with fake currency notes was going to come to Sector 7 of CGS Colony, Antop Hill, the police camped at the venue. The police laid the trap and Noor Shamshu Shaikh (29) was arrested last night. During interrogation, he revealed that there were five more members in his gang.
The police have also arrested the other five members, Ameer Khan (30), Mohammed Qureshi (28), Sarfaraz Shaikh alias Pappu (26), Mohammed Shaikh (25) and Iqbal Ansari (35), along with the fake currency notes amounting to Rs 88,200.
Investigating Officer K N Gharade told reporters that the under which the accused were registered are 489 A, B, C, D, E and 34 of Indian Penal Code. However, they were very poor and the crime was committed to earn them some money.
He also told that Sarfaraz Shaikh, who had been doing Data Transfer Protocol (DTP) work, was very well versed with computer knowledge. The accused would scan the original notes with a scanner onto the computer and print the fake notes.
