Tortured by husband, woman ends life

Akola, Maharashtra, May 11 (UNI) A young woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison here, unable to bear the torture meted by her husband for not being able to conceive.

Police have identified the woman as Sunita, who hailed from Sawardoh Jivgi village in this district.

She had married one Pramod Avchar in the year 2001 but had not conceived. The husband allegedly tortured the woman physically and mentally which drove her to commit suicide, police said. The husband has been arrested, police said.
