Written by: Staff

COLOMBO, May 11 (Reuters) Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels sank a government navy attack boat and attacked a troop transport vessel off Sri Lanka's northern tip, Nordic truce monitors today said, but there was no word on fatalities.

''Our monitors saw several Tiger boats attacking the transporter ship and firing,'' said Helen Olafsdottir, spokeswoman for the unarmed Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission. ''We have a monitor on that boat.

''A government Dvora (Israeli-built fast attack boat) has been sunk,'' she added.
