RPSF official sentenced to 3 yrs SI for assaulting Engineer

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) A local court today sentenced an Adjutant of the Railway Protection Security Force to three years simple imprisonment.

Additional Sessions Judge V K Goel also fined Ajaib Singh, Rs 21,000 after holding him guilty of unlawful assembly and obstructing/hurting a public servant on duty.

Ajaib Singh has assaulted a Section Engineer of the Northern Railway Narender Kr Deswal, incharge of Land and Building department, when he went to demolish some 'illegal' structure on the land given to the 6th Battalion of the RPSF.

Co-accused in the November 22, 1999 incident, Inspector S S Yadav, was however discharged in the case.
