Orissa government urged to lobby for Petro Chemical complex
Bhubaneswar,May 11 (UNI) Former Orissa Assembly Speaker and senior Congress leader Sharat kumar Kar today urged the state government to plead its case for the proposed Petro Chemical Investment Complex Zone in the country.
Mr Kar told newsmen here that the Petroleum Ministry had already shortlisted four states-Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal for the proposed Petro Chemical Investment Complex Zone.
The project to be set up over an area of 20 sq kms near the coast will help economic activities and provide large scale employment opportunity.
The Congress leader said Orissa government should take up the initiatives and pressurise the Centre for the complex as other states shortlisted for the project had already started lobbying with the Centre for the project.
Mr Kar also appealed to all political parties in the state to unite and extend their cooperation to the state government to bag the project for the state.
