NHPC HCC signs agreement for civil works worth Rs 395 cr in WB

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC) today signed an agreement with M/s Hindustan Construction Company (HCC Ltd) for the execution of the civil works package of the 160 MW Teesta Low Dam (Stage 4) Hydroelectric Project in West Bengal, at a cost of Rs 395.90 crore.

The agreement was signed by NHPC CMD S K Garg and HCC Ltd Senior Vice President S K Dharmadhikari.

The project consists of a 504 m long and 45 m high Concrete Gravity Dam and Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) Dam, along with a Surface Power House, housing 4 units of 40MW each, and is designed to generate 720 million units of electricity anually.

The total cost of the project shall be Rs 1061 crores and it is to be commissioned by September 2009.
