HP Congress leaders congratulate Sonia on wining Lok Sabha by-polls

Shimla, May 11 (UNI) Congratulating Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi on winning Rae Bareli by-elections, Himachal Pradesh Congress leaders today said it was the victory of the moral values she stood for and indicated the peoples' continued faith in the policies and programmes of the party.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, in his message, said her victory was the triumph of the values she stood for, adding her sacrifice was a source of inspiration to the present and future generations.

Ms Gandhi's victory was also an indication the peoples' continued faith in the policies and programmes of the government, he said.

Industries Minister and former state party chief Kuldeep Kumar congratulated the party president for her winning the Lok Sabha polls by a record margin and said the people of the constituency have shown their faith in the party.

HPCC President Viplove Thakur also congratulated Ms Gandhi and said her victory in Rae Bareli and the victory of the allies in Assam, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry would marginalize the fundamental forces in the country.

Terming the party's victory in the states as triumph of the secular forces, state general secretary and party spokesman Kuldeep Singh Rathore said it was a vote for the development and progress.

Several state cabinet ministers have also congratulated the party president on winning the Lok Sabha by-polls by a record margin.
