Employ local people in JP industries: Ram All
Bilaspur, May 11 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Forest Minister Ram all Thakur today asked the JP Industries management against employing people from other districts of the state and said discrimination with local people would not be tolerated.
''If the management did not correct the situation, local people might create trouble and that will adversely affect the early commissioning of the plant,'' he told a delegation of seven panchayat members who called on him here.
The JP management had recently employed drivers from Kangra and Hamirpur districts of the state, while ignoring the claims of the local people who had submitted their applications on time, the delegation had alleged.
Expressing his dissent with the JP management for ignoring the interests of the local people, Mr Thakur said if the management continued with its policies people of the area would be forced to resort to direct action.
Seven panchayat members had recently complained to the forest minister about the JP industries management decision and urged him to take steps to safeguard their interests.
Mr. Thakur reminded the JP management that raw material, fabrication yards and the whole infrastructure had been developed on the fertile agricultural lands of the local people whose interests could not be surrendered to others.
The state government would do whatever possible to safeguard their interests, he added.
