In Suzapur Assembly constituency of Maldaha district, former Railway Minister and heavyweight Congress leader A B A Ghani Khan Chaudhury's sister Rubi Noor had no difficulty at all to get through, but in Kabitirtha Assembly constituency of Kolkata, former state Food Supply Minister Kalimuddin Shams's son Moinuddin Shams had to lick dust.
In Rash Behari Assembly constituency of Kolkata, Congress leader Nirbed Roy's wife Mala Roy ate humble pie, while in Pursurah Assembly constituency of Hooghly district, veteran CPI(M) leader and former party Legislator Bishnupada Bera's son Anjan Bera convincingly sailed through.
