Do it now, mantra of the state: Buddhadeb
Kolkata, May 11 (UNI) 'Do it Now' Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today promised an overhaul of the work culture in West Bengal now that they have returned to power with resounding verdict.
''The spirit of the verdict is for formulation and implementation of the progressive policies. There will be debates and differences of opinion in a party that is alive. my goal is to build a consensus,'' Mr Bhattacharjee told reporters here this everning.
Talking about his 'do it now' policy, he said, ''Yes, I belive in douing things right away. But it cannot be implemented right away, we need to understand the gravity of its meaning and work with its spirit.'' Asked if he was looking at the Centre, he parried the question.
''I am a poor Chief Minister of West Bengal. Let me work here.'' Asked about his immediate work, he said, ''There has to be a three prong strategy. It will be to consolidate agriculture, accelerate the growth in the industry and alleviate the condition of the people living below the poverty line.'' However, no matter how active and how progressive you are there are bound to difference of opinion in a party that is alive, the main idea is to get a consensus.
