CEC to attend meet of state ECs in J

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) The Election Commission is leaving for Jammu and Kashmir next week to attend the conference of the state election commissioners to be held on May 16.

During the conference, Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon and his two other colleagues N Gopalaswami and Navin Chawla will address the poll officials from the states, EC sources said here today.

The previous conference was held in Hyderabad in April 2005.

Among other issues, the day-long conference is expected to deliberate upon various issues like use of electronic voting machines, its popularisation and updating of electoral rolls.
