Introduce Delhi Demolition Bill in LS, says BJP
New Delhi, May 11: The Opposition BJP today stalled the Lok Sabha proceedings demanding the introduction of the Delhi Demolition Bill, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House till 1150 hrs.
Heated exchanges were witnessed between Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy and BJP members when BJP Deputy leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra threatened to stage a walkout over the issue.
''You are not allowing the House to function,'' Mr Reddy shouted.
Mr Malhotra said it was a matter of privilege that Mr Reddy yesterday announced to the media the introduction of the Bill when Parliament was in session.
''But the Bill is neither listed in today's business, nor was it taken up in the Business Advisory Committee meeting,'' Mr Malhotra said as soon as the House met for Question Hour.
