Bandits announce reward on police officers!
Shivpuri, MP, May 11 (UNI) With the twin motives of garnering publicity -- even as the police close in -- and to show force, the Dayaram-Rambabu Gadaria dacoit gang, active in Gwalior-Chambal region, has allegedly announced a ''reward'' on police officers.
A letter sent by the bandits, through recently-released abductees, spoke of a total purse of Rs 50 lakh on Inspector-General (Gwalior-Chambal Range) Sanjay Rana, Shivpuri's Superintendent Roop Singh Meena and Inspector Ashok Singh Bhadoria.
Mr Bhadoria, an anti-dacoity specialist, and Mr Meena denied having received any such correspondence.
Police said the strange development was actually an indication that the gang's days were numbered. Earlier, Nirbhay Gujjar also announced a reward on a lady officer stationed at Bhind. He was neutralised in an encounter shortly thereafter.
