Backlog of reserved seats of agri varsity to be cleared
Patna, May 11 (UNI) Bihar has decided to make appointment against teaching and non teaching posts of Rajendra Agriculture University, Pusa, providing reservation to scheduled castes and scheduled tribe candidates.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting convened by Speaker of the Bihar assembly Udai Narain Chaudhary which was attended by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh, Agriculture production commissioner Ashok Kumar Singh and Vice-Chancellor of the university Dr.H P Singh.
Official sources said backlog of the reserved seats would be cleared since 1970. Teaching and non-teaching staff would be appointed under the reserve quota of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes after clearing the roster in this connection.
Relaxation had been made for the candidates of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes aspiring for the post of assistant professors.
They would not be required to qualify the National Eligibility Test(NET) conducted by the University Grant Commission(UGC) as warranted under the existing rules. But the concerned candidates would have to qualify the NET within three years of their appointments if selected. However, candidates having Ph.D. degree would enjoy exemption from these conditions, sources added.
