Army to recruit religious teachers in Meghalaya
Shillong, May 11 (UNI) The Indian Army will hold a rally at the Headquarter Recruiting Zone here to recruit religious teachers in the capacity of Junior Commissioned Officers.
The rally, to be held on July 18, will select Pandits, Granthis, Bodh Monks, Padris and Maulvis for the Army, said an Indian Army press release.
The selected candidates would be responsible to impart religious knowledge to the Army personnel and have an excellent understanding of the religious issues, said the release.
For the post of Pandit, a candidate should be a graduate with Madhyama in Sanskrit or Bhusand in Hindi or any standard equivalent, while Granthis be a graduate with Vidwan in Punjabi or equivalent standard.
For Bodh Monk, a candidate should be a intermediate and must be an ordained monk by an appropriate authority. For Padri, a candidate should be a graduate and must be an ordained priest by authority, while Maulvis should be Alim in Arabic, Adib Alim in Urdu or equivalent standard.
