Advance booking of hotels available, says Bali

Shimla, May 11 (UNI) Tourists planning to visit Himachal Pradesh can now book HP Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) hotel from any part of the world by internet and on payment through a credit card, state Tourism Minister G S Bali today said.

He said tourists could log on to www.hptdc.gov.in website, which has been launched in collaboration with national informatics centre (NIC), and book a room for them on payment through a credit card.

HPTDC had earlier entered into a partnership with Shogi Communications for online booking of both private and HPTDC hotels, which had developed the website www.himachalhotels.in.

Mr Bali said a round the clock toll-free telephone tourists information and assistance service had also been introduced by the tourism department in association with Shogi Communications and the trial run of the service had already been started.

Besides, the department was also installing touch-screen kiosks at important information centers, railway stations and airports to enable the tourists to access any information on the state, he said.
