2-day tourism fest in palace city from May 15

Mysore, May 11 (UNI) A two-day tourism festival, ''Karnataka Tourism Expo 2006,'' will be held in this palace city from May 15.

to promote tourism.

In a release here, Tourism Department Assistant Director S Vikram said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was expected to inaugurate the mega event, organised by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The festival was organised with the objective of projecting the scope for improving tourism in Mysore city as well as the district and the abundant opportunities for tourism in the region at national and international levels.

Hoteliers, travel agents, package tour operators and other classes of entrepreneurs were expected to set up shops at the exhibition.

Delegations from different parts of the country as well as foreign coutires such as Singapore, South Africa and America were expected to take part in the festival.

Seminars, technical sessions and several other activities were being organised as part of the event.
