14 killed, 18 injured seriously in road accidents

Hyderabad, May 11 (UNI) Fourteen people were killed and 18 seriously injured in two road accidents in Andhra Pradesh, during the wee hours today.

Police said eight wage earners were killed when the lorry in which they were travelling with a load, overturned near Pendurti in Krishna district. Three others were seriously injured.

This was the second such fatal accident in ten days. On May one, ten workers died when a lorry overturned near Gampalagudem in Krishna district.

Six members of a marriage party traveling by a tractor were killed when a private bus collided with their vehicle on the Khammam-Kothagudem Highway in Khammam district.

All the six died on the spot. Fifteen others were seriously injured in the accident.

The deceased belonged to Rampur village, police added.
